New Digital SAT

The Digital SAT (DSAT) is quite different from the old paper version with a shorter duration: 2 hours 14 minutes total. The preparation strategy has to match its adaptive and tech-based format. The two sections are:

Reading & Writing (RW) – 54 questions, 64 minutes. To do well we have to master question types: Tone, Main idea, Evidence, Transitions, Grammar, Punctuation, and Logical Structure

Math – 44 questions, 70 minutes. Key topics of Algebra, Advanced Math, Problem Solving and Data analysis and Geometry and Trigonometry have to be strengthened.

PSAT

PSAT or Preliminary SAT is for International students planning to take the SAT next year. PSAT is entirely about strategic preparation and self-assessment.

The top reasons why a International students should take the Digital PSAT in Class 10 are:

  1. The Ultimate SAT Practice Test

It is the most accurate, low-stakes practice run you can get for the real Digital SAT:

  • Identical Format: It uses the same Digital Adaptive format, the same testing software (Bluebook), and the same question types as the actual SAT. This exposure eliminates test-day shock.
  • Low Stakes: Your PSAT score is not sent to colleges. It’s a risk-free environment to practice time management and build confidence under pressure.
  1. Granular Diagnostic Feedback

The score report is arguably the most valuable part. It gives you a detailed breakdown of your performance by specific skill areas.

PSAT 8/9

PSAT 8/9 offers several valuable benefits for international students in grades 8 and 9 eyeing high university abroad later on.

Taking the PSAT 8/9 is a good move:

  • Practice for the Big Tests: The PSAT 8/9 is the earliest test in the SAT Suite of Assessments. It shares the same structure, sections (Reading/Writing and Math), and skills focus as the later PSAT/NMSQT and the SAT itself. It’s a low-stakes way to get a feel for the format, question types, and time constraints without the pressure of college admissions.

At SATCAT, we believe SAT success isn’t just about test prep — it’s about mindset prep. Our adaptive digital learning system and global mentors equip students with the confidence, skill, and strategy to excel on the SAT and beyond.

Whether your goal is a top-tier international university or a personal best score, we help you get there — smarter, faster, and stronger.
